You can book a moonlit cutter ride for up to four people, or book a group of any number! (For school groups, see notes below.)

The length of time is up to you. If it's a ride for two, you may want to be out for about an hour. If you want to stop to skate or toboggan, you'd probably like more time. That's fine with us. We offer a variety of activities while you are at the farm. Larger groups usually stay 2-3 hours so everyone can get in a couple of sleigh rides and also enjoy the toboganning, skating, and hot chocolate. Each ride takes approximately 20 minutes back to the skating pond.

$75 +GST for a one hour ride (up to 4 people only), or $150 +GST per large sleigh with plenty of time for all the activities. Each large sleigh holds 10-12 people. You can book one sleigh for up to 25 people; participants simply travel in shifts. There's plenty to do while waiting for your next turn!

Just give us a call and we'll put you on our calendar. Times do fill up, so call as early as you can. Cancellations due to bad weather can be made early morning the day of the ride, without penalty.

Sleigh rides are a fun and educational way for children to get outdoors and experience the working life of an Ontario family farm. All size groups and all ages of children are welcome. Cost is $6.00 per child, minimum $150.00 +GST. Supervising adults are not charged.

The children are asked to bring their own skates and toboggans. We have a great toboganning hill. Schools are asked to bring enough adults to supervise both the toboganning hill as well as skating area.

School groups generally come for two and a half to three hours, starting usually between 10 am and 11 am. Please ensure the children wear warm clothing. Hay bales are placed around the skating/hot chocolate area for children and adults to sit. You can arrange to cook your own hotdogs on a propane barbeque ($20 +GST charge per bbq), or we can sell cooked hotdogs individually to your group members. There is an outdoor toilet at the site.

Follow highway 7 traveling east out of Peterborough (or west from Norwood), to the lights at highway 28 (formerly 134). Turn north. Go past the stop sign at the Warsaw Rd (Douro Community Centre, is on the right). Our farm is located on the west side of highway 28, two kms north of the stop sign.
